Campetella Racings Taro Sekiguchi has been given the all-clear to return to racing this weekend at the GMC Australian Grand Prix, as he continues to recover from his horror crash at Brno in August.

Sekiguchi suffered multiple fractures to his left-hip bone, pelvis and four ribs during a spectacular accident in practice at the Czech venue and spent more than two weeks at a Brno hospital before returning to his native Japan.

He was desperate to take part in his home Grand Prix in Motegi nearly three weeks ago and tried sitting on his Aprilia 250cc, but did not feel comfortable and on that occasion the Clinica Mobile staff denied him permission to race since he was still too weak to face a whole weekend of practice and racing.

Ahead of his return at Phillip Island Sekiguchi commented: Im really happy to have gotten the all-clear to race this weekend. Today I sat on the bike inside our garage and the feeling was good but since Im still not 100% its obvious that Ill have to be careful this weekend and not over-do it. I hope it doesnt rain because water can really complicate things.
