Having spent the best part of three weeks hospitalised in Brno, Taro Sekiguchi has today been cleared to fly to his current residence in Frankfurt, from which he will head home to Japan tomorrow.

An horrific crash in the warm up for the race in the Czech Republic, left Sekiguchi with a fractured pelvis and thorax injuries, provoking his extended stay in Eastern Europe. Sekiguchi will now undergo a specially devised rehabilitation program, with the intention of participating at his home race later this month.

The Campetella Racing rider, one of the riders most plagued by unfortunate injuries in the 250cc class, spoke to motogp.com about his race against time to compete at Motegi.

"This year I have been very focused on being 100% for my home race, so this accident was a huge blow to my aspirations. In any case, I am going to concentrate my efforts on rehabilitating myself to get back on the bike at Motegi, where I hope to show the fans that I am in good health and have the chance to be competitive."
