Ahead of the quarter class race at Phillip Island motogp.com picks out the key stats at the GMC Australian Grand Prix.

- Jorge Lorenzo is on pole for the ninth time in 2007 and has won from each of his previous eight pole starts.

- Hector Barbera starts from his best grid position (second) since the Catalunya race in June.

- Alvaro Bautista has qualified on the front row for the first time since Assen.

- Alex de Angelis has scored points at the last nineteen successive races.

- Marco Simoncelli starts from his best grid position since qualifying fifth at the third race of the year in Turkey.

- Andrea Dovizioso starts from his lowest grid position (seventh) since qualifying eighth at Le Mans.
