New Yamaha Tech3 signing James Toseland was in Birmingham on Wednesday, meeting fans and giving tips to some aspiring young riders at the British city's iconic Bullring centre.

Fitting in the visit between his first MotoGP tests with Yamaha at Sepang in Malaysia last week and Jerez in southern Spain next week, 28 year-old Toseland will officially open the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the Birmingham NEC to press today (Thursday), before the show opens to the public on Friday.

At Wednesday's event Yorkshireman Toseland handed out some expert advice to four of the UK's leading junior motorcycle racers, 11 year-olds Bradley Rea, Wayne Ryan, Fraser Rogers and six year-old Charlie Nesbit.

Toseland's new Yamaha Tech3 team-mate, Colin Edwards, is also due to make an appearance at the NEC, whilst the show will feature a Riders for Health auction with bid items such as U2 singer Bono's red Ducati 916 and three Shark RSR2 helmets, signed by a number of motorsport legends, including Valentino Rossi.
