Gadea repeats Valencia performance to blitz 125cc competition

Sergio Gadea showed that yesterday's superb showing in the 125cc Valencia test was no fluke, by dropping his fastest time even further on the final day in Spain.

Sergio Gadea showed that yesterday's superb showing in the 125cc Valencia test was no fluke, by dropping his fastest time even further on the final day in Spain.

The Aspar rider was nearly a second faster than the majority of his rivals with a blistering 1'38.390 lap, with only Polaris World's Bradley Smith joining him in recording a time under 1'39.

Gadea's bike had undergone a number of modifications for this latest test, and these changes have allowed him to outshine even team-mate and reigning World Champion Gabor Talmacsi in Valencia. The Hungarian was nearly 1.5 seconds off Gadea's time, although he can be expected to close the gap in the coming outings.

Riding with a slight finger injury, Pol Espargaro was fourth fastest, ahead of Nico Terol and Andrea Iannone. The only KTM rider in the top ten was Tomoyoshi Koyama, seventh ahead of Sandro Cortese, British rookie Scott Redding and Joan Olive. The latter had only been able to put nine laps under his belt yesterday, but today made up for lost time with 55 turns of the Spanish circuit.

There were light crashes for Stevie Bonsey and Pere Tutusaus, although both were uninjured.
