Entering the 250cc World Championship off the back of a series of annual Sepang wild card appearances, Indonesian rider Doni Tata Pradita has been making his first European testing outings in Spain in preparation for the coming season.

The first rider from his country to compete full-time on the world stage, the Yogyakarta native has competed in single races 3 times in Malaysia; twice in 125cc and once at last year's 250cc Grand Prix. Honoured by the opportunity, Pradita spoke to motogp.com at the Valencia test in Eastern Spain, where he was familiarising himself with the only Yamaha bike on the quarter litre grid.

"I am very happy to be a World Championship rider," said the Yamaha Pertamina Indonesia man, who turned 18 just over a week ago.

"My last race at Sepang was not as good as I wanted; the bike had a mechanical problem and I couldn't finish the race. Now I am going to learn how the bike works and get to know other new tracks. It is a very big thing for me to be chosen as the only Yamaha rider and I want to do well in 2008," continued the 250cc newcomer, the only quarter litre rider at the test to have never ridden before in Valencia.
