A casualty of yesterday's wet weather in Phillip Island, Kawasaki rider John Hopkins is not too downhearted about the results of the Australian test after gaining some important experience on the Ninja ZX-RR under new conditions.

Speaking about the accident, which left him with a torn abductor muscle and an appointment with renowned surgeon Dr. Artur Ting for laser surgery, the Anglo-American explained the circumstances that lead to his highside.

"I was just going into turn one and pushed the gas a little too much, so I lost the rear and it highsided me. It's a shame because before that everything was going well," said Hopkins, who heaped accolades on the machine that so viciously threw him to the asphalt.

"This bike is the best I've ever ridden in the wet. We were working a lot with the clutch shift, and it would have been nice to have had another dry day to work with this.

"I'll fly back to San Francisco to see my doctor, and we're almost certain that we'll be needing a procedure to be ready for Jerez," concluded the 24 year-old.
