The Belson Derbi 125cc team were officially unveiled today at the Kinepolis cinema complex in Madrid on Thursday, with riders Pol Espargaro and Joan Olive in attendance.

Espargaro, the 16 year-old who was 2007's 125cc Rookie of the Year and also won the Spanish CEV title with Derbi machinery last year, and has been testing with the machinery in recent outings at Jerez and Valencia.

"It was a return that I was expecting, so it didn't come as a surprise to me when it was confirmed," said Espargaro at the team presentation in the Spanish capital. "I have great memories of winning the national championship with Derbi in the same class, and I believe that the material is there to win again in the World Championship."

Meanwhile, 23 year-old Joan Olive completes an all-Spanish line-up in the team's ranks. The rider who took two podiums in the lower cylinder category last year declared his excitement to be riding with Derbi in the coming season, and also to be working with experienced manager Dani Amatriain.

"The first impression of the team is very positive, because to ride with Derbi is a big thing for me. I get on really well with Amatriain as well, and that gives me a lot of confidence ahead of this coming season.

"I want to repay the confidence that has been placed in me," continued Olive. "I think that we will be fighting for great results, but it will be difficult. One has to see how the bike is doing and where we are at the start of the year."

Both riders will be furthering their adaptation to the team and machinery at the Official Test in Jerez, in just over a week's time.
