Repsol riders presented in Zaragoza

MotoGP riders Dani Pedrosa and Nicky Hayden, alongside lower cylinder category competitors Julian Simon, Esteve Rabat and Marc Marquez, made an appearance yesterday at Repsol's 2008 project presentation in Zaragoza, Spain.

The quintet were unveiled in an event open to the public in the Spanish town's Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening, with those left outside the building also able to follow the action on big screens. The 2008 Repsol Honda RC212V to be used by Hayden and Pedrosa in the MotoGP class this season was displayed on stage with much fanfare, and the riders themselves were also brought under the spotlight for a question and answer session with fans.

It had been a full day for the Repsol Honda and KTM contingent, which began at midday in an official reception with Juan Alberto Belloch, the Mayor of Zaragoza. After meeting the man in charge of the township, the riders were taken to see a ‘Repsol Champions' photo presentation, before attention turned to the Expo 2008 event.

The prestigious world fair will be held in Zaragoza in the near future, and the Aragonese capital can now count the Repsol riders as Expo Zaragoza 2008 ambassadors. They were taken to see the construction work taking place in preparation for the exhibition, before a press conference saw them fielding questions from the gathered local, national and international media.

Hayden and Pedrosa are in Jerez for the Official Test today, whilst the lower cylinder category competitors take to the track from Tuesday. Video footage from Thursday's presentation is available on motogp.com.
