Following on from the wet weather interlude of the BMW M Award session, just four riders chose to return to the track in Jerez for an afternoon practice outing cut short due to high winds.

Randy de Puniet and Jorge Lorenzo were the only two regular MotoGP riders to brave the elements, joined by Ducati test riders Niccolo Canepa and Vittoriano Guareschi as the quartet put in a grand total of fifteen laps between them. De Puniet put in the largely inconsequential fastest lap of the brief session, a 1'55.568 onboard his LCR Honda RC212V.

Wind and further rain at the Spanish track was enough to provoke the early conclusion of the MotoGP Official Test's second day, with conditions causing damage to advertising hoardings that were adjudged to present danger for the riders. Race Direction made the decision to show the red flag, with the next chance for the riders to test their bikes coming tomorrow in the third and final day of MotoGP testing in Spain.
