The 20 year-old Italian went round in a best time of 1'48.900 to keep him a tenth of a second ahead of nearest rival Mike di Meglio on the Ajo Motorsport Derbi, as clear dry lines formed and allowed the rider to lap at a decent pace on slick tyres following rain earlier in the day.

World Champion Gabor Talmacsi of Bancaja Aspar was the fastest Aprilia rider in third, just ahead of Blusens Aprilia Junior rider Efren Vazquez and Nico Terol of Jack & Jones WRB.

The single cylinder riders will return to the track tomorrow for the second of their three days of testing this week in the south of Spain.
