After two days of intermittent training, the smaller class riders gathered at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit have been blessed with perfect weather conditions on the last morning of their three day preseason test in the south of Spain.

Pleasant temperatures, virtually no wind, blue skies and, most importantly, a completely dry track have provided the 250cc and 125cc competitors with the opportunity to make their final preparations on European soil for the 2008 season.

By the 1pm mark Aprilia riders Alvaro Bautista (Mapfre Aspar) had set a hot lap of 143.529 under Alex de Angelis record fastest race lap at Jerez of 144.295 from 2007 whilst Alex Debon (Lotus Aprilia) and Mika Kallio (Red Bull KTM) had also gone under the 144 barrier.

Bautista has been testing new material provided by Aprilia for this test, and his focus is to find out how his wrist is healing after an operation this winter. Meanwhile, Yuki Takahashi (Scot Racing Team) had been the most prolific participant having completed 38 laps thus far today.

In the 125cc the man on the pace is Bradley Smith from the Polaris World team, who has registered a time of 147.866. As was the case on Tuesday and Wednesday, riders from both classes share the track from 10am until 2.50pm, before separate sessions later today.
