The 2008 Polaris World Aprilia team project was officially launched at the Sports Café in London's bustling Haymarket on Wednesday morning.

British 125cc rider Bradley Smith and Italian 250cc competitor Mattia Pasini were both officially presented to the gathered media, alongside Polaris World CEO Jose Luis Hernandez and Team Manager Jose Maria de la Puerta.

"I was really honoured to be asked to join the Polaris World Aprilia team and I'm determined to thank them for showing such faith in me by getting some good results this season," said 17 year-old Smith who has been in great form in preseason test sessions.

Immediately after the launch the team flew to Qatar to prepare for the special 125cc and 250cc night tests at the Losail International circuit from 1st-3rd March - before the opening Grand Prix of the season on 9th March at the same venue.
