Polaris World Aprilias Bradley Smith continued as the 125cc frontrunner in the categorys first practice session of night two in Qatar, yet to be bested in either a practice or qualifying outing thus far at the Losail International Circuit.

Slower than on his provisional pole lap from Friday night, which he performed under conditions much cooler than those of the early evening sessions, the 17 year-old was nonetheless over seven tenths of a second quicker than at this time yesterday. Smith is now a strong favourite to confirm his place at the head of the front row by the time the floodlights are switched off at the end of the night.

The good news for British fans continued with Scott Redding in second place, replicating his initial practice ride onboard the Blusens Aprilia machine. The rookie was less than four tenths of a second off his compatriots time.

Nico Terol, Stefan Bradl, Simone Corsi, Mike di Meglio and reigning World Champion Gabor Talmacsi were the only other riders to go round within a second of pacesetter Smith, Talmacsi not yet entirely at ease with the track at which he will begin his title defence.

DeGraaf Grand Prix Aprilias Danny Webb second in yesterdays qualifying session- and Belson Derbis 2007 Rookie of the Year Pol Espargaro completed the top ten on a track some three degrees Celsius cooler than at the same time on Friday.
