With 11 riders in their expanded MotoGP portfolio this season the Japanese tyre company have plenty of work on their hands, but the front tyre is an important development, which Bridgestone will continue to devote time to.

Speaking to motogp.com in the Jerez paddock, Bridgestones motorcycle race tyre development manager Tohru Ubukata explained, `With the front qualifying tyre actually we have been developing it since last season and at the moment the performance is not good enough, compared to the race front tyre. The next step will be to keep developing it and if we have good results, we can use it.´

`Actually its difficult to develop,´ he continued. `If we just put soft rubber on it has no positive effect, so we have to modify the construction, we have to think about the shape and we have to have collaboration on bike set-up.´
