The first morning of free practice at the Gran Premio bwin.com de España commenced under perfect blue skies at Andalusias Jerez de la Frontera circuit on Friday, with the atmosphere building ahead of the first European races of the 2008 World Championship this weekend.

In perfect riding conditions, the 125cc class riders were the first to take to the Jerez track in their customary early Friday session, revisiting one of the venues where they tested their single cylinder machinery over the winter.

The days activities will include the normal MotoGP free practices, with the premier class riders also returning to a scene of some intense winter testing sessions, in addition to the regular 125cc and 250cc outings and free practice and qualifying runs for the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup participants.

As always, motogp.com will provide updates throughout the day, as the riders across all classes prepare for one of the biggest GPs on the MotoGP calendar.
