On a high after another sterling rookie performance, Jorge Lorenzo has guaranteed a show for the thousands of fans set to inundate the Circuito de Jerez this weekend.

The Spaniard had a dream start to his homecoming –the Gran Premio bwin.com de España being his first race on European soil in MotoGP- by grabbing the top spot at the end of the first day´s practice sessions. The 20 year-old has had some wild celebrations and shown some trademark bravado at the track in the past, and promises that there is more to come over the next two days.

`We´re very motivated; all the Spanish riders are when they come to Jerez! Every year it´s an amazing focus for people, 130,000 people coming here to see us, so we have to offer them a show,´ noted the reigning 250cc World Champion and MotoGP newcomer, who believes that there is no reason not to aspire to equal or even better his second place from Qatar.

`Last year Valentino won here, and we are at least trying to be in the fight to win. There´s a lot of riders who could be up there, but we are ready to fight!´

`The performance of Jorge has been really impressive,´ noted Lorenzo´s Team Manager Daniele Romagnoli.

`He did many laps on good pace, in the low 1'40 to 1'45 range, and that´s a positive thing for us. We have nothing major to change tomorrow before qualifying.´
