One of the hot tips for 250cc World title success in 2008, Alvaro Bautista will get away from pole on Sunday at Jerez wearing a special edition Roberto Marchionni-designed helmet as he goes in search of his first win of the season, in front of an expectant home crowd at the Gran Premio bwin.com de España.

The Mapfre Aspar Team rider, who scored two victories last year in his rookie 250cc campaign, aims to repeat his 2006 125cc Jerez triumph today and is hoping for good luck as he competes in a helmet with a suitably Spanish flavour, which he has been wearing all weekend at the Andalusian venue.

Italian designer Marchionni, of the Starline design company, told motogp.com, `The original idea was for the helmet to be worn as a one-off item for the Spanish Grand Prix, but if Alvaro wins the race in front of all his fans, maybe he will decide to keep wearing it for future races.´

`I worked for nearly 40 hours on the artwork, which you can see has a big letter B, for Baustista, and also has the devil cartoon which Alvaro uses as his personal logo.´

Bautista has a special place in the affections of Marchionni, being the first rider to have won a World Championship while carrying the Italian´s design work on his helmet in 2006.
