This weekends Gran Premio bwin.com de España certainly provided some tough challenges for the Ducati Marlboro team, but with both Casey Stoner and Marco Melandri ending up in point scoring positions the Italian MotoGP outfits manager Livio Suppo was taking the positives out of the experience.

For World Champion and Qatar race winner Stoner his intention to push at 100%, along with a touch of bad luck, saw him run into the gravel twice before coming home in 11th position, to earn five points which could prove vital come the end of the season as he defends his MotoGP crown.

Meanwhile, for Melandri he earned one less point than his colleague Stoner, following the Australian across the finishing line in 12th place as he continued the learning process with the Desmosedici GP8.

After the race Suppo told motogp.com, `I think Casey proved he is a fighter. No matter the position he would not give up. Its just the second race and last season he struggled here, then everything was different after. For some reason our bike doesnt like this circuit but that can happen. Last year we were on the podium 17 times with the bike so have to think positively.´

Of Melandris effort, the Italian team boss continued, `Like in Qatar his lap times at the end of the race were very close to the guys in front, so we really have to try to understand why at the beginning he struggles so much. He lost the way and we have to work hard with Marco.´
