The premier class race at the bwin.com Grande Premio de Portugal on Sunday saw the numerous Spanish fans who had made the journey to Estoril, to join the local MotoGP followers, enjoying the action as Jorge Lorenzo (Fiat Yamaha) took a superb victory.

Lorenzo´s first MotoGP win in just his third 800cc race was a remarkable achievement, especially given that he outdid such strong opposition in second and third place finishers Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda) and Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha) to head the podium.

In the 250cc contest Alvaro Bautista (Mapfre Aspar) took his third consecutive Estoril victory in dominant style, ahead of Metis Gilera´s Marco Simoncelli and Red Bull KTM´s Mika Kallio – with Kallio now topping the quarter litre class general standings.

Simone Corsi of the Jack&Jones WRB team earned his second successive win in the 125cc race, to retain the lead in the championship after edging out Belson Derbi´s Joan Olive on the final straight, with Corsi´s team-mate Nico Terol also on the podium.
