Despite securing his best MotoGP finish so far in Portugal and battling against a heavy bout of `flu during his visit to Estoril San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Alex de Angelis was not satisfied with his result at round three, having completed the race more than a minute behind winner and fellow premier class rookie Jorge Lorenzo.

The San Marino rider improved on his Qatar DNF and his 14th place finish at Jerez by coming home in 11th, doing so from 16th on the grid – but he left the Atlantic coast venue frustrated by his lack of competitiveness in comparison with the front runners in the Portuguese contest.

`I'm not so happy about the race or the weekend in general,´ admitted De Angelis. `On Friday I had a very high temperature, and I have to thank Clinica Mobile because their work allowed me to race. But you can´t be satisfied when you finish one minute behind the winner at the end of the race. This is a first for me.´

`We have to work hard and focus our attention for the forthcoming races. We´re sure that our potential is better then what we are showing. In the winter tests we did a great job and now we have to demonstrate that in races.´

Reflecting on the specifics of the third round race, De Angelis added, `At Estoril, the problem was the tyres. We had to choose between hard and soft and we couldn´t use the soft tyres, because it would have been impossible to finish the race. So we went with the harder ones, but the bike was bouncing too much, and was difficult to ride.´
