Vermeulen: `Chinese circuit is great to ride´

Whilst some riders are not the biggest fans of the challenges presented by the Shanghai International Circuit, the Rizla Suzuki rider is eager to compete once more in China.

Speaking at the MotoGP pre-event in Shanghai, Rizla Suzuki´s Chris Vermeulen cut an optimistic figure ahead of Friday´s opening practice sessions. The Australian enjoys the Shanghai International Circuit´s variable nature and is out for improvement with the GSV-R.

`Last year the Suzuki was very fast here, and there´s a lot of variation; we go from the fastest straight to maybe one of the slowest corners, so it´s a great circuit to ride. I really enjoy it,´ said the Australian on a boat trip through the Asian city. He will be hoping that he isn´t `sold down the river´ by tyre manufacturer Bridgestone this weekend, with some intensive post-Estoril rubber work undertaken at his most recent test.

`Last year I had a crash in qualifying and we ended up seventh, and we want to improve on that this year,´said Vermeulen when pressed on his aims for the Pramac Grand Prix of China.´
