Alice pair enjoy Thursday karting fun

Toni Elias and Sylvain Guintoli did battle on-track ahead of the Pramac Grand Prix of China on Thursday, on four wheels rather than two for once.

Alice Team duo Toni Elias and Sylvain Guintoli found time for some light-hearted competition on the eve of round four of the season, visiting a karting centre near the Shanghai International circuit to do battle with each other.

Relieving the tension in the build-up to this weekend´s Pramac Grand Prix of China the Ducati satellite pair undertook a few karting laps together but get down to the serious business of trying to improve results with their new team on Friday.

After a slight upturn in form at Estoril in the third round where both Elias and Guintoli achieved their best finishes of the year so far in 12th and 14th places respectively, they will look to continue that trend in the Far East and push for the top ten.

Elias was a guest in the Grand Prix preview press conference on Thursday where he thanked Ducati Corse for inviting him to their Borgo Panigale headquarters and looked forward positively to this weekend´s events.

`I am ready for this race thanks to last week´s visit to Ducati in Bologna, where I had the opportunity to speak about my situation directly with Filippo Preziosi, Ducati Corse General Director. We spoke about my situation with the bike and I hope that in the next few Grand Prix' we will be able to improve our results,´ said Elias.

`I am happy because even though I am in a Satellite team I feel Ducati is really backing me. At Estoril I didn´t do very well although it is one of my favourite tracks. Now we will see if the test we did in Portugal, where we improved our lap performances, will enable us to be more competitive here.´
