Terol opens Shanghai proceedings in 125cc top spot

Spaniard looking for first pole position of World Championship career.

Opening the practice session schedule for the Pramac Grand Prix of China, Nico Terol took the early advantage in the 125cc class with a 2´13.508 lap of the Shanghai International Circuit.

On a two race run of consecutive podiums, the Jack&Jones WRB rider made a storming start to proceedings, edging out Ajo Motorsport´s Mike di Meglio at the end of the first session by nearly five tenths of a second. Terol is still looking for his first pole and victory in the class, but has never been in better condition to achieve said goals.

Behind the Spaniard and the Frenchman, reigning 125cc World Champion Gabor Talmacsi began his road to redemption after a difficult opening trio of races. The Hungarian has experienced mechanical problems with his Bancaja Aspar Aprilia as of late, something shared by Polaris World´s Bradley Smith who completed the outing just behind Talmacsi.

Series leader Simone Corsi was fifth on the second Jack&Jones machine, ahead of Stefan Bradl, Sandro Cortese, Andrea Iannone, Esteve Rabat and Sergio Gadea.
