Smith ups the pace ahead of final 125cc qualifying session

Briton takes top spot with time quicker than that of provisional poleman Stefan Bradl.

Second on the provisional grid for the 125cc Pramac Grand Prix of China, Bradley Smith opened up the action on day two in Shanghai with the fastest time in the second free practice session.

The Polaris World rider was the lone Aprilia in a Derbi-prominent top four, clocking a time of 2´12.583 some four tenths ahead of nearest rival Mike di Meglio. The Belson Derbi duo of Pol Espargaro and Joan Olive joined Di Meglio in representing the Spanish factory, all three with times below that of Stefan Bradl´s provisional pole lap.

Bancaja Aspar´s Sergio Gadea made immediate improvement on his Friday performance, fifth quickest ahead of Jack&Jones WRB in-form rider Nico Terol, 2007 World Champion Gabor Talmacsi and current series leader Simone Corsi.

Provisional poleman Bradl was eleventh in the standings, nearly a full second slower than his qualifying time.
