Burgess believes next four races will reveal title contenders

Australian Chief Mechanic also hails Valentino Rossi´s Bridgestone adaptation after first win of 2008.

One man initially sceptical about Valentino Rossi´s decision to switch to Bridgestone tyres, the Italian´s Chief Mechanic Jeremy Burgess has nonetheless played his part in bringing the five-time World Champion up to speed with the new rubber in 2008.

The experienced Australian –regarded as one of the driving forces behind the Italian´s success in the premier class- has made a career of adapting to new riders, machines and cylinder categories, and recognises the process needed to feel at ease with change.

`We´ve been getting closer every week with the Bridgestones, getting on the podium. Here we´ve gone one step higher, and that´s what it´s all about,´ said the longtime associate of MotoGP´s most successful current star.

Rossi and Burgess will now pit their wits against the rest of the World Championship field at four races where they are no strangers to victory, with visits to Le Mans, Mugello, Catalunya and Donington all on the immediate agenda.

`The next four races always seem to show a lot as to who´s likely to win the championship,´ noted the veteran paddock figure.
