Ducati´s Preziosi to receive prestigious award

Engineer behind the Desmosedici recognised with the `Courageous Intelligence - Intelligent Courage´ prize.

The brains behind the 2007 World Championship-winning Desmosedici machine, Ducati Corse General Manager Filippo Preziosi will receive further reward for his efforts when he is presented with the "Courageous Intelligence – Intelligent Courage" award on Friday.

Preziosi will be in attendance at the Franco Mazzotti Mille Miglia Club Foundation´s annual prizegiving ceremony in Trissino´s Villa Marzotto, collecting his trophy in person. He was chosen according to the criteria established by the Foundation, specifically to `gratify the talent, the inventiveness and the foresight of those who have succeeded and succeed in distinguishing themselves in the cultural, scientific and sporting spheres.´

This past week has been a pleasing one for Preziosi, having seen the best collective results of the season so far for the Desmosedici´s dual incarnations in Shanghai. Reigning World Champion and factory team rider Casey Stoner returned to the podium after two races off the rostrum, whilst teammate Marco Melandri had a breakthrough to take fifth place. Alice Team´s Toni Elias, who spent time with Preziosi in Italy after the Grande Premio de Portugal in order to better understand the 800cc machine, finished eighth on the GP8 Sat.

The `Courageous Intelligence – Intelligent Courage´ awards will also recognise the likes of aviation pioneers Wilbur and Orville Wright and personal computer trailblazer Stephen Gary Wozniak.
