Lorenzo injury adaptation may lead to permanent seat adjustment

Lorenzo injury adaptation may lead to permanent seat adjustment

Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo has been doing all that he can in order to best adjust to his ankle injuries. However, one particular modification may even continue to be used when he returns to full fitness…

The catalogue of injuries suffered by Jorge Lorenzo in China may have given the Spaniard some extreme discomfort in recent weeks, but the spectacular highside and its effects could turn out to have the unexpected silver lining of further improving the rookie´s adaptation to the Fiat Yamaha M1.

Lorenzo´s seating position was adapted in Shanghai to limit the pain experienced upon his return to riding and, as Chief Mechanic Ramon Forcada reveals, this modification may be used long after the reigning 250cc World Champion´s recovery period.

`We´re keeping the same position for Jorge this weekend,´ said the man given the task of tailoring the bike to the 21 year-old´s needs. `He preferred to keep it this way, because he already had a good race with it in China. For the future we may even keep this position.´

Further tweaks are to be made away from the 800cc machine, with Lorenzo´s pain to be limited in collaboration with Clinica Mobile medic Dr. Claudio Costa.

`This morning Jorge had a little bit of pain, but now with Dr. Costa we´ll be looking at some different taping for the injured foot to make it easier,´said Forcada after the first Free Practice session in Le Mans.
