Rookie return for Savadori this weekend in 125cc class

Former Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup rider Lorenzo Savadori will make his World Championship debut at Mugello this weekend

A former competitor in the opening edition of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Lorenzo Savadori returns to Mugello this weekend for his World Championship debut in the 125cc class.

The youngster adds his name to the list of home riders participating in the Gran Premio d´Italia Alice, and is well aware of the demands presented by the track. Rather than simply looking to gain experience amongst the regular riders, Savadori is aiming high at his maiden Grand Prix.

`The goal I have for my debut in the World Championship is to get some points, possibly ending the race in the first thirteen riders. I know it won´t be easy but I want it and know I can do it,´ says the determined Italian.

`I will of course be a bit nervous to race with the number one riders of the 125cc class but this doesn´t mean I will forget my goal.´

Currently riding full-time in the Italian 125cc Championship with the RCGM Aprilia team, Savadori at least has recent form to back up his aspirations. He was racing as recently as last Sunday, building up his CV with a win from pole at Vallelunga.

Now focused on the World Championship, Savadori feels that whatever the end result may be he cannot help but learn new things from his Grand Prix debut.
