MotoGP arrives in beautiful Tuscany

The World Championship carnival rolls up at one of the most picturesque settings on the calendar, as the atmosphere builds for round six at Mugello.

Looking typically resplendent despite some grey skies, following overnight rain, the magical setting of Tuscany´s famous Mugello circuit greeted the MotoGP riders as they pulled into town for round six on Thursday morning.

Homeboys Valentino Rossi (Fiat Yamaha), Loris Capirossi (Rizla Suzuki), Andrea Dovizioso (JiR Team Scot) and Marco Melandri (Ducati Marlboro) will all attend the 4pm pre-event press conference, with 2006 World Champion Nicky Hayden set to be the only non-Italian attendee.

Like local MotoGP idol and consecutive six-time Mugello winner Rossi, Melandri and his World Champion team-mate Casey Stoner can look forward to a warm reception from the Italian crowds this weekend, with the `Ducatisti´ supporting the Borgo Panigale team at their local GP.

Meanwhile, with San Marino being within comfortable driving distance, San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Alex de Angelis is also sure to be given plenty of support from the Mugello stands over the forthcoming three days.

Thursday´s official pre-event promotion will see De Angelis joined by fellow premier class competitor Sylvain Guintoli (Alice Team) and Italians Mattia Pasini (250cc, Polaris World) and Simone Corsi (125cc, Jack & Jones WRB) on visit a typical Tuscan farm in Borgo San Lorenzo at 1pm.
