125cc dominance continues on Saturday morning for provisional Pol

Pol Espargaro continued to dominate in the 125cc Saturday morning session, following on from his excellent qualifying performance on Friday afternoon.

Provisional 125cc poleman Pol Espargaro was once again the fastest rider in Mugello on Saturday morning, clocking a 2´00.202 lap at the end of the morning session. The Belson Derbi rider took the lower cylinder category top spot in yesterday´s qualifying session under soaking conditions, but this morning the track was merely damp from overnight rainfall.

Hot on the 2007 Rookie of the Year´s heels was World Championship leader Mike di Meglio, just 0.016 behind the teenager for a Derbi one-two with his Ajo Motorsport machine. Sandro Cortese and Andrea Iannone were also close to the fastest time of the session, just over a tenth of a second down on Espargaro.

The Bancaja Aspar duo of Sergio Gadea and 2007 World Champion Gabor Talmacsi took further strides with their Aprilia machinery. Talmacsi is provisionally slated to start on the second row.

Joan Olive, Bradley Smith –who suffered a late breakdown with his Polaris World Aprilia- Raffaele de Rosa and Nico Terol completed the top ten, whilst there were crashes for Marc Marquez, and Robin Lasser.
