Inspirational Stoner provides guidance for Rookie Beach

American Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup front runner JD Beach has been getting great support this year from premier class World Champion Casey Stoner.

Although JD Beach is still waiting to taste Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup victory in 2008, having finished second in all four races thus far this year, the teenage American is rapidly gaining experience and improving his riding ability at various World Championship circuits.

He also enjoys the benefits of support and friendship from no lesser a figure than reigning MotoGP World Champion Casey Stoner, who is helping Beach along the way.

Having met last year, via a mutual contact with Alpinestars, who provide leathers and riding equipment to Stoner and to all the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup riders, the pair have become good friends, with 16 year-old Beach getting advice and guidance from the level-headed Australian.

Stoner of course knows how it feels to be far from home racing at European circuits at a young age and has been happy to keep an eye out for Beach and another American youngster Cameron Beaubier, who was a Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup rider last year and currently competes in Spain in the CEV as part of the Red Bull MotoGP Academy.

The Ducati Marlboro star said of Beach and Beaubier, `I understand how hard it is to be away from home for so long, and what the commitment is and the dedication. They are both coming along very well and they are both talented riders, so we help out wherever we can. They spend a lot of time in Europe and if it was by themselves at that age it could get quite lonely.´

Beach himself appreciates the help he is getting and described Stoner, saying, `He came up through the ranks of 125cc and 250cc and he is now in MotoGP, he really knows the bikes, he used to ride a KTM and he really helps out a lot. He´s really cool, it is kind of like having a big brother.´

Of his experience thus far in the 2008 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, Beach added, `So far it has gone really well. I´ve got four seconds out of four races and it is a lot better than last year. I wasn´t doing too well and this year I have really stepped it up. It is really great because we have factory KTM bikes, we´ve all got Alpinestars leathers, we have a great atmosphere and we get to ride the best tracks in the world.´
