Poleman Barbera heads 250cc warmup

Hector Barbera continued his pole position form in Sunday´s 250cc warmup, recording the fastest time with race settings.

250cc poleman Hector Barbera was also the quickest rider in the Sunday morning warmup for the quarter litre class, showing fine form ahead of his 100th Grand Prix start. The Spaniard´s best time was a 1´54.460 lap of the Mugello circuit, three-tenths of a second quicker than fellow front row starter Marco Simoncelli.

The front row was also represented in the top three by 2007 racewinner Alvaro Bautista, riding the Mapfre Aspar Aprilia.

Mattia Pasini, Aleix Espargaro and Manuel Poggiali all rode round within the same second as Barbera, whilst Thomas Luthi, Yuki Takahashi, Julian Simon and Roberto Locatelli completed the top ten.

Front row starter and current World Championship leader Mika Kallio was down in thirteenth in the warmup session.
