The quarter litre class comes under the scrutiny of the statisticians before Sunday´s 250cc Barcelona race.

- The last five winners at Catalunya in the 250cc class have all been from pole position.

- Alex Debon (second on the grid) has had back-to-back podium finishes at the last two races after having only finished on the podium once in his previous 111 Grand Prix starts.

- Hector Barbera (third) won the 125cc race at the Catalunya Grand Prix in 2004.

- Following his victory at Mugello, Marco Simoncelli (fourth) will be aiming to be the first Italian rider to take back-to-back wins in the 250cc class since Marco Melandri in 2002.

- Hector Faubel will be starting from his best ever grid position (sixth) while competing in the 250cc class.

- World Championship leader Mika Kallio will be starting from his lowest grid position (ninth) since he was eleventh on the grid at Phillip Island last year. Kallio has been the first KTM rider across the line in all six 250cc races so far in 2008.
