Opening discussions regarding a possible return held between Paolo Berlusconi and Carmelo Ezpeleta.
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Garelli could be in line for a return to the World Championship, with representative Paolo Berlusconi having discussed the possibility with Dorna Sports S.L. CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta at the recent Gran Premio d´Italia Alice.
Garelli have an illustrious history in the lower cylinder categories, having dominated the 125cc class for six seasons between 1982 and 1987. The likes of Angel Nieto and Fausto Gresini were amongst the factory´s most successful riders.
If Garelli were to return to the World Championship in 2009, it would be in the 90th anniversary year of their producing motorcycles.
