Bradl sets out stall with fastest 125cc practice time

Home rider Stefan Bradl opened proceedings in Sachsenring with the fastest 125cc time of the morning.

Beginning his quest to become the first home 125cc winner at the Sachsenring circuit, Stefan Bradl quickly showed his experience of the German track with the fastest time of the opening practice session.

Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing´s Grand Prix standout –the son of legendary German racer Helmut Bradl- was the only rider able to breach the 12´9 barrier, clocking a quickest lap of 1´28.906 to edge out reigning World Champion and Assen racewinner Gabor Talmacsi by nearly three-tenths of a second.

The leading two riders were followed by Onde 2000 KTM´s Raffaele de Rosa and Polaris World´s Bradley Smith, whilst another home rider –Sandro Cortese- was fifth fastest. Sergio Gadea, series leader Mike di Meglio, Andrea Iannone, Randy Krummenacher and Joan Olive rounded off the top ten, all within a second of Bradl´s marker.

Title contender Simone Corsi was eleventh quickest, whilst Pol Espargaro suffered a crash in his first session back after a collarbone injury.
