Capirossi happy with Suzuki and looking forward to new GSV-R

Returning to action this weekend at the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland Rizla Suzuki´s Loris Capirossi is in good spirits and is anticipating the arrival of updated GSV-R machinery in the coming weeks.

Despite being in the wars of late, with three rounds passing him by without a point on the board, Loris Capirossi was in a positive frame of mind at the start of the Alice Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland weekend when he spoke to motogp.com.

A broken hand sustained in a crash during the race at Catalunya early in June and a nasty gash to his forearm from an ill-fated comeback attempt later in the month at Assen have halted the Italian´s previously steady progress in his first season with Rizla Suzuki.

But the likeable veteran was as enthusiastic as ever about getting back on track this weekend in Germany and is also looking forward to the delivery of updated Suzuki GSV-R prototypes for him and his team-mate Chris Vermeulen in the Czech Republic, after the summer break.

`We are waiting for the new bike to come at Brno and we will try to do our best in the latter part of the season,´ said Capirossi on Thursday. `We hope to get a couple of podiums. The new bike will have a completely different chassis and different weight distribution so I think it will be a big step and we really hope it will work better.´

Commenting on his season so far with Suzuki, Capirossi stated, `It´s good with Suzuki. I love all the people and I love the bike, but we have to continue working really hard. I am a little bit upset about the crash I had in Barcelona because I have now been out three times, but anyway this is racing and it sometimes happens. I try to do my best, and we know what our targets are.´
