Edwards unveils `Stars and Stripes´ livery for home race

Colin Edwards´ Tech 3 Yamaha M1 will be decked out in red, white and blue for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix.

Those looking out for the distinctive yellow and blue Tech 3 Yamaha M1 of Colin Edwards at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix will not find the machine on their screens during the American race. The `Texas Tornado´ has not withdrawn from his home event, but instead he will be running a special `Stars and Stripes´ livery.

The design also features the Statue of Liberty in a nod to the French connection of his Tech 3 Yamaha team, with the emblem having been donated to the U.S.A by the French.

Edwards has dedicated the new one-off livery to his American friends, family and Yamaha collaborators. The weekend has also hosted a series of off-track activities for Yamaha, who confirmed that both Edwards and factory team rider Valentino Rossi would remain with the Japanese factory next season.

Edwards used a Texas theme for his 2007 Laguna Seca livery, and modeled a Stetson on the MotoGP grid to complete the look.
