More blue skies for first morning of Misano action

More blue skies for first morning of Misano action

In stark contrast to the Friday conditions on last year´s MotoGP visit to Misano there was beautiful weather this morning at the Adriatic Coast venue.

With no signs of a repeat of the 2007 Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini Friday floods the MotoGP fraternity look set to enjoy a day of perfect weather conditions on the first day of 2008 action at the Italian circuit of Misano.

Dry practice time has been something of a rarity on several occasions so far this season, but the forecast is good for this weekend and the riders in the three MotoGP World Championship categories will be looking forward to getting to grips with a slightly modified Misano track in their respective first free practice sessions.

Alterations to the pit-lane entrance have seen the lay-out of turn three changed, with the result of a slight lengthening of the track overall, so lap times from the 2007 re-entry of Misano onto the calendar will not make for significant, relevant comparison.

Certain to make for interesting reading, however, will be the comparisons between the first MotoGP practice lap times of the Bridgestone and Michelin representatives in the premier class, given the gulf in competitiveness between the two tyre brands last time out at Brno – where Japanese rubber was utterly dominant.

After the customary opening 125cc run the MotoGP riders get underway at Misano at 10am.
