The motogp.com statisticians put the 250cc Gran Premio Cinzano di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini grid under the spootlight.

- Hector Barbera starts from pole for the second time this year. His previous pole was at Mugello where he crashed as he started the final lap after colliding with Marco Simoncelli whilst battling for the lead.

- Marco Simoncelli starts from the front row for the eighth successive race. He has finished on the podium at the last seven races.

- Aleix Espargaro has qualified on the front row for the first time since moving up to the 250cc class mid-way through 2006.

- Yuki Takahashi is the only Honda rider in the 250cc class to qualify of the front row of the grid so far this year.

- Hiroshi Aoyama will be starting from his best grid position since he was on pole in Malaysia last year.

- Mattia Pasini could become the first rider to win a GP at Misano in both the 125cc and 250cc classes.
