Handful of riders remain at Misano for Monday afternoon test

Dani Pedrosa running on Bridgestone tyres will be the main novelty during an afternoon of MotoGP testing to be attended by a small group of riders on Monday at Misano.

The decision to switch tyre suppliers with five races remaining in 2008 means that Monday afternoon´s test opportunity will see Repsol Honda´s Dani Pedrosa get immediately stuck into the task of becoming accustomed to riding on Bridgestone rubber, following Sunday´s announcements on the subject at Misano.

Pedrosa will not be the only Honda rider on Bridgestone tyres in the 1pm-6pm Misano workout as the San Carlo Honda Gresini team remain in situ for their own tests, with Shinya Nakano continuing his work on his updated RC212V and Alex de Angelis getting back on track following his home race disaster.

Another Misano crasher Randy de Puniet may also be testing, depending on whether he is fit having picked up a knock to his right hand in his nineteenth accident of the year on Sunday afternoon.

The only additional MotoGP riders expected to stay on for the session are Kawasaki pair Anthony West and John Hopkins as they try to make improvements following a disappointing weekend.

Meanwhile, former World Championship rider Randy Mamola will undertake some test laps with Gilera on Marco Simoncelli´s 250cc RSA.
