Lorenzo and Toseland delighted to visit Yamaha HQ

Taking advantage of their trips to Japan for the Grand Prix at Motegi, Jorge Lorenzo and James Toseland visited Yamaha Motor Co. headquarters this week.

New to the Yamaha racing stable as fellow MotoGP Rookies in 2008, factory rider Jorge Lorenzo and his satellite colleague James Toseland paid their first visits to the Japanese company´s head offices in Iwata this week, ahead of the A-Style Grand Prix of Japan.

A busy day on Tuesday saw Lorenzo and Toseland visit the Yamaha factory where they met fans and participated in an auction, a talk show and an autograph session before Englishman Toseland demonstrated his skills on a Yamaha piano. The pair also met the Yamaha engineers responsible for the creation of the M1 800cc prototype machinery used in MotoGP, before being introduced to Mr. Kajikawa, President of Yamaha Motor Co.

On Wednesday Lorenzo departed for Tokyo for an appointment with the Spanish Ambassador to Japan, whilst Toseland visited the Yamaha Corporation facility in Hamamatsu to see the factory where the company produces its musical instruments, including the pianos Toseland plays so well.

On his Yamaha experience in Japan, Toseland commented, `To come here for the first time and see the development on the ´09 bike and the engine and the chassis, to get that opportunity is just amazing. You see their involvement and how they want to develop. They have had great results this year with Valentino (Rossi) looking likely to win his eighth World Championship and with the work they are already putting into next year it is just awesome to be a part of it.´
