Stoner acknowledges Bridgestone brilliance

Stoner acknowledges Bridgestone brilliance spoke to Bridgestone´s Hiroshi Yamada and World Champion Casey Stoner about the Japanese company´s MotoGP success story ahead of their home race.

In celebration of their home Grand Prix this weekend in Japan, Bridgestone this week hosted some special events in Tokyo, with the likes of Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner amongst those in attendance.

Stoner secured the first ever World title on Bridgestone tyres in 2007 and following Rossi´s move onto Japanese rubber this season the firm´s success story continues in the premier class.

At a pair of events attended by in Tokyo earlier this week Bridgestone brought together journalists, fans, bloggers and riders as Stoner and Rossi were joined by the likes of Shinya Nakano, Loris Capirossi, Toni Elias and John Hopkins in the Japanese capital.

Of his experiences with Bridgestone, Stoner was as humble as ever in pointing out that his tyres were even stronger this season than in his championship winning campaign in 2007, stating, `We have made a big step forward this year. Last year we were still struggling in a few places but now it is very consistent. We have been able to go a second a lap quicker at certain tracks this year and that is quite an amazing achievement really.´

Hiroshi Yamada, Bridgestone Motorsport´s Motorcycle Sport Unit Manager, added, `Of course we have the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend at Motegi which is very important for us to demonstrate our performance and we want to promote MotoGP in Japan so that is why we organised these events. It was great to bring so many riders together and we thank them for coming.´
