Corsi warms-up quickly in opening Sunday session

The 125cc riders were, as always, the first out on track with their early Sunday morning warm-up at Motegi, with Italian youngster Simone Corsi setting the pace.

Having qualified in his worst grid position (fifteenth) since the final race of 2006 in Valencia, at this weekend´s A-Style Grand Prix of Japan, Simone Corsi was back on the pace in the Sunday morning 125cc warm-up – under grey skies and in cool temperatures at Motegi.

The Italian Jack & Jones WRB rider went round in a best time of 1´59.444s, keeping him ahead of second fastest participant Stefan Bradl (Grizzly Gas Kiefer Racing), whilst the top five was completed by Britain´s Bradley Smith (Polaris World), poleman and World Championship leader Mike Di Meglio (Ajo Motorsport) and Spain´s Joan Olive (Belson Derbi).

The rest of the top ten included Sandro Cortese (Emmi - Caffe Latte), Pol Espargaro (Belson Derbi), Dominique Aegerter (Ajo Motorsport), Sergio Gadea (Bancaja Aspar) and Danny Webb (Degraaf Grand Prix).
