125cc class goes Down Under for fifteenth round of action

Mike di Meglio will be defending his lead of the 125cc classification at Phillip Island.

A comfortable 36-point advantage in the 125cc World Championship classification means that Mike di Meglio is truly the man to beat in Australia, with the Frenchman having been a revelation since his switch to the Ajo Motorsport team and factory Derbi machinery. His closest challenger is Jack&Jones WRB´s Simone Corsi, who has only managed two seventh places at the past two races in his quest to catch the title favourite.

Racewinner in Japan Stefan Bradl moved up to third in the standings at Motegi, whilst reigning 125cc World Champion Gabor Talmacsi has had to ride with an extremely painful left wrist in order to take a podium and keep his title hopes alive.

Nico Terol will also be aiming to continue his great season in Australia, whilst Joan Olive is the only rider in the top six yet to record a Grand Prix victory.
