Kallio gets flying start in first 250cc Australian practice session

First blood went to Mika Kallio in the 250cc class´ first run at Phillip Island.

Red Bull KTM´s 250cc World Championship title contender Mika Kallio was the fastest on the draw in the opening quarter-litre practice session at Phillip Island, with a time of 1´33.736. The top three in the series all placed within half a second of each other in a star-studded top three, series leader Marco Simoncelli the closest to the Finn´s marker with Alvaro Buaitsta close behind.

Just one-thousandth of a second behind Mapfre Aspar rider Bautista was his fellow Spaniard Julian Simon, riding the second-highest placing KTM machine. He in turn placed ahead of Hiroshi Aoyama, last year´s fourth place finisher in Australia.

Mattia Pasini, Alex Debon, Ratthapark Wilairot, Aleix Espargaro and Hector Faubel completed the top ten in the session.
