Morning sunshine dries Sepang track after overnight rain

As the action commenced at the Polini Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix the Sepang sunshine had dried out most of the track following heavy rain overnight.

With the 125cc riders commencing their customary first free practice at 9am local time in Malaysia this morning there were still dry patches on the Sepang track early in the session.

The evaporation of the remaining moisture is likely to be rapid in temperatures close to 30°C early on Friday, though with humidity at 89% the conditions will be as demanding as ever at the South East Asian venue.

One man testing his own physical condition in the first MotoGP practice at 10am local time will be Dani Pedrosa, still walking with some discomfort following the bruised knee he sustained in his costly first lap crash at Phillip Island less than two weeks ago.

The 250cc riders will, as usual, be the last to take to the track this morning at 11.15am, before further practice runs in the afternoon which could well be affected by seasonal tropical thunderstorms.
