Kallio heads Saturday 250cc practice in Valencia

Finnish rider fastest in final quarter-litre Free Practice session of 2008.

Provisional front row starter Mika Kallio put down the fastest time in a second 250cc Free Practice session headed by two Red Bull KTM riders, over a second ahead of any other participant.

Finnish rider Kallio put in a 1´40.828 lap of the Valencia circuit to put himself at the top of the timesheet, the class´ quickest time of the weekend to date. Second quickest was Hiroshi Aoyama, with 2008 World Champion Marco Simoncelli a further tenth of a second down.

Julian Simon and Yuki Takahashi, two riders who will leave the quarter-litre class through separate doors after tomorrow´s race (moving to 125cc and MotoGP, respectively) clocked the fourth and fifth fastest times of the session, ahead of provisional poleman Alex Debon and 2008 series runner-up Alvaro Bautista. Manuel Hernandez, Thomas Luthi and Mattia Pasini rounded off the top ten.
