Overcast skies and further cool temperatures as Saturday commences

The second day of action at the Gran Premio Parts Europe de la Comunitat Valenciana got started under grey skies at the Ricardo Tormo circuit.

Although there was no rain at the commencement of proceedings on Saturday morning at Valencia the paddock awoke to continued cool temperatures, with clouds looming overhead.

Thankfully better weather is forecast for the last raceday of the 2008 MotoGP season on Sunday and this year´s consistent pattern of precipitation is not predicted to continue on Saturday, which should assist the teams and riders as they work on their final race set-ups of the season.

Friday´s leading man Nicky Hayden will aim to stay ahead of the likes of World Champion Valentino Rossi, his future teammate Casey Stoner, current Repsol Honda colleague Dani Pedrosa and Rookie of the Year favourite Jorge Lorenzo on the Saturday timesheets.

Once today´s morning free practice sessions and afternoon qualifying runs are completed the second Red Bull Riders Cup race of the year will take place at 4.15pm local time and Casey Stoner will be presented with the BMW M Award for Best Qualifier of 2008 at 5.40pm.
