Lorenzo snapped in charity photo session

MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo takes part in special photo session to aid children with chronic illness.

One of the most popular sport stars in his native Spain, Jorge Lorenzo is used to being snapped by photographers during his on-track exploits. On Friday, however, the Fiat Yamaha rider was in front of the camera in a very special photo session in Barcelona.

Lorenzo was being photographed at the Barcelo-Sants hotel by eleven year-old Carmeta, as part of an initiative for the Anima Fundacion Privada organisation to aid children with chronic illness. The photos taken by Carmeta, a sufferer of leukemia, will be part of a 2009 calendar for a Spanish bank -Banc de Sabadell.

Joining the 2008 MotoGP Rookie of the Year amongst the twelve stars who will feature in the calendar are the likes of footballer Leo Messi and basketball player Ricky Rubio. The photos taken at the session will also be displayed in Barcelona´s L`Illa shopping centre during the month of December.
